Monday 2nd April 2012 - Taman Negara

The next morning my stomach felt bruised and my mouth was sticky because it was so dry. I went outside underneath the lodge to find the water Shafiq was supposed to have boiled last night but there was nothing. He told me the water he had boiled last night had gone funny so he was now boiling more. I really wanted to hurt this boy! The water had gone funny?! Are you kidding me! He was probably getting high the whole night and forgot to bloody boil it! After Shafiq had finished boiling the water and put it into the water bottle (which he should have done last night and then I dont see how it would have gone funny), I went into defiant mode. Everytime Shafiq had made us tea so far he used one tea bag for the whole pot and it was really weak -  Today I took a teabag per girl! It may be petty but it made me feel better! And also hydrated me a bit! We then walked for maybe an hour and a half to catch the boat to the Canopy Walkway. Upon arrival at the walkway we saw they sold soft drinks and water. We all got a can of fanta - i have never appreciated a drink so much in all my life.  The canopy walkway was nice but one fourth of it had been closed for maintenance - of course thats a good thing because I was constantly thinking while I was up there how often they check this thing. It was really high and I was constantly thinking of survival techniques for if it fell. I didn't see any animals at all apart but was constantly hearing buzzing in my ears from the annoying bugs that were harassing me - definitely not what you want when you are trying hard to focus on walking in the middle of this walkway high in the trees. After the walkway we were supposed to be going to the tribe village (where we were originally supposed to be spending last night) but all of us agreed that we had seen similar things before and would much more prefer to just go back already. And so we got in the boat and headed back to Mama Chop where Shafiq stuck to his promise and got us a cornetto ice cream and a can of coke.  The girls were now heading to Kuala Lumpur to catch a flight to Thailand and I couldn't focus on where i was going next - all i could think of was laying in a bed and doing nothing and so i decided to spend another night in the chalet we had stored our things at. We all headed there to shower. All of us agreed that it was the best shower ever - despite only having cold water!!! I washed everything at least twice, said goodbye to the girls and laid on my bed and slept. I got up and maybe 6pm to go and get food and then came straight back to bed!
